Registration can be done online through our website or calling on the number provided on the website. You'll need to provide basic information and choose your competition category.
1. Hifz Competition (Three-Round Format)
- Initial Round: Quranic recitation of four consecutive verses
- Secondary Round: Quranic recitation of four consecutive verses with Surah identification
- Final Round: Quranic recitation of four consecutive verses, Surah identification, and demonstration of Surah knowledge (reciting opening and closing verses)
2. Full Quran Competition
- Participants shall demonstrate their memorization through recitation of four consecutive verses from any part of the Holy Quran
3. Tilawat Competition
- Participants shall present a three-minute recitation of their chosen verse from the Holy Quran
- Emphasis will be placed on Tajweed rules and proper pronunciation
4. Azan Competition
- Participants shall present the complete Azan
- Assessment Criteria:
- Adherence to proper pronunciation and traditional sequence
- Excellence in vocal quality and melodic presentation
- Mastery of breath control and appropriate pauses
- Effectiveness in conveying spiritual significance
- Duration: Three to five minutes
The competition is open to all residents of Delhi. Age categories are: Junior (under 17) and Open Age. Participants must be able to recite the Qur'an with proper Tajweed.
The competition consists of two stages: Preliminary Rounds and Finals. In the Preliminary Rounds, participants come through either School Track (10 Islamic Schools with internal selection, 2 best per category) or Individual Track (open registration). For Finals, Hifz category will have maximum 24 participants per category (20 from schools, 4 from individual), while Tilawat & Azan will have 12 participants each (10 from schools, 2 from individual).
A panel of qualified judges will evaluate participants based on Tajweed, pronunciation, voice quality, and overall presentation. Detailed scoring criteria will be provided to all participants.
